This is an original 1906 2 page article titled, "Bagging Grapes-- A Method of Protection that Shuts Out the Enemies and at the Same Time Improves the Flavor and Appearance of the Fruit," by Fred E. The article begins, "A good, old-fashioned practice that might well come into more general use among grape growers, is that of protecting the fruit while on the vine by inclosing the clusters in paper bags. There are numerous insects, birds and fungous diseases that attack the fruit during its development, and against most of these the bags can be made to furnish almost perfect protection. Spraying to destroy the pests is often effective and, for the benefit of the vine and foliage should never be neglected..."
