This is an original 1907 black and white print ad for The Glidden Varnish Company's Jap-A-Lac Stain and Varnish. Jap-A-Lac was one of Glidden's most well-known brands in 1903. The Cleveland-based Glidden Company was founded in 1875, by Francis Harrington Glidden, Thomas Bolles and Levi Rackett. Between 1832 and 1922, the company produced about 1,000 gallons a week of their varnishes and finishes and made their deliveries by horse and wagon.
