1907 Ad National Pure White Lead Paint Dutch Boy Icon - ORIGINAL ADVERTISING CL8
This is an original 1907 black and white print ad for the National Lead Company and Dutch Boy Paint. Lead paint was banned in the United States in 1977, after research illuminated the dangers of the toxic chemical, which can lead to kidney damage, reproductive damage, nervous system damage, stunted growth, delayed development in children and more. Lead paint was especially dangerous to children because it tasted sweet. While lead paint is still used today by the military, as well as in painting roadways and parking lots, it is banned for all other uses.
