1908 Print Cascata delle Marmone Ancient Roman Waterfalls Velino River XGVB8
This is an original 1908 black and white halftone print of the Cascata delle Marmon waterfalls of Terni, Umbria, Italy. This historic waterfall was originally created by the ancient Romans. It is one of the highest waterfalls in Europe, as well as the world's highest manmade waterfall. The source of the waterfall hails from the River Velino. Presently, much of the water is diverted to a hydroelectric power plant, thus, according to a pre-planned schedule to accommodate tourists and electric companies alike, these falls range from powerful gushing waters to levels that barely rival that of a brook.
