1909 Article Garden Grounds McAdam Poppies Flowers Soil - ORIGINAL CL9
This is an original 1909 1 page article with several pieces that give tips on how to successfully build a garden. The articles are written by Thomas McAdam. Several images seen on the page illuminate his points-- a man bedding plants after the danger of frost, a man using a labor-saving device, and a man planting gladiolus bulbs in May for the August crop. The article writes, "Year old poppy seed is no good. Oily seeds are usually short-lived. The chances are that your bed was too sunny, or you sowed the seeds too late; for you cannot have the best poppies unless you sow them in March or early April".
