1909 Print Vajdahunyad Castle Agricultural Museum Budapest Hungary XGLB2
This is an original 1909 black and white halftone print of the Gothic wing at the Vajdahunyad Castle, which presently serves as an agricultural museum in Budapest, Hungary. This historic Hungarian landmark was originally designed by Ignác Alpár in the Romanic, Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance architectural styles, and was completed in 1908. Initially, this castle was a flimsy model for the original, built of wood and cardboard for the Hungarian Millennial Exhibition of 1896 (Hungary World's Fair), but it received such praise and admiration that the actual structure was eventually erected with solid brick and stone work.
