1921 Duotone Print Argentina Gauchos Guitar Musical Instrument Mutton NGM2
This is an original 1921 duotone halftone print of gauchos of Argentina playing the guitar while they sing. The gaucho, also referred to as the South American cowboy, dresses in brightly colored Turkish trousers, which are tucked into the boots. He also wears a sombrero, a white shirt and a scarf. The woman in the image is drinking mate, a popular Paraguay tea. To the right is the mutton meat, which is attached to stakes that are stuck in to the ground. A fire is built around, and while the roasting proceeds claret wine is poured over the meat. This type of barbecue is very common in South America. CONDITIONThis 90+ year old Item is rated Near Mint.
