1922 Rotogravure Archaeology Egypt Tomb Sakhara Deir-El-Bahri Pyramid Museum

This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of archaeological excavations in Egypt. Shown are men removing blocks from the tomb at Sakhara in the cemetery of ancient Memphis; a method used by the natives to carry the blocks from the tomb; the temple of Deir-El-Bahri in Thebes; men removing the lintel of the doorway of the Sakhara tomb; and trucks transporting the various tomb sections to the Nile Valley, where they would be shipped to the Metropolitan Museum of New York City.
