This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of America's 'unknown warrior' returning to the states on the ship Olympia. The caption writes, "Casket containing the body of America's 'unknown' dead as it rested on the Olympia with a guard of two sailors before being taken ashore for the journey to the capitol." The bottom shows the coffin being unloaded from the ship at the Navy Yard in Washington, D. C. Shown to the right is Secretary Denby, General Pershing, Admiral Countz and General LeJeune.
