This is an original 1926 photogravure of the Temple of Olympian Zeus in Athens, Greece (Hellas). Construction of the temple began in the 6th century BC, but was not completed until the 2nd century AD. The capitals of the temple were created in the Corinthian style-- the structure originally had 104 columns, but now only 15 are in existence. The photographer of this image is unknown.
