This is an original 1927 duotone rotogravure of silent film star, Janet Gaynor (1906-1894). Born Laura Gainor in Philadelphia, she worked first in films as an uncredited bit player. Her first credited role was in "The Johnstown Flood" (1926). Her work in "Seventh Heaven" (1927), "Sunrise" (1927), and "Street Angel" (1928) gave her the very first Academy Award for Best Actress.
