1929 Thebes Luxor Egypt Photogravure Hypostyle Karnak - ORIGINAL EG1

This is an original 1929 photogravure of The Great Hypostyle-- an ancient and large hall built by the pharaoh Seti. In the film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the epic battle scene between Optimus Prime and Megatron takes place in this location in the Karnak complex. This battle is a parallel to the historic battle between Seti I and Ramesses III which is depicted on the outer wall. Karnak is located in Thebes and is a large, open-air museum of important historical and religious sites. Thebes is an ancient city located within the modern city of Luxor in Upper Egypt.
