This is an original 1932 black and white French ad for Byrrh, an apŽritif wine, illustrated by famed artist Georges LŽonnec. Georges LŽonnec (1881-1940) Georges LŽonnec, brother to the popular novelist Felix LŽonnec, began his career as a cartoonist selling drawings to humorous newspapers in 1899. In 1907 he began collaborations with ÒVie ParisienneÓ (Parisian Life) and campaigns for Renault and Daimler. After participating in WWI he become the official illustrator of ÒVie ParisienneÓ and ÒSouris.Ó He is perhaps best known for his illustrations used in the Byrrh campaigns.
