(1932), The Affairs of Cellini (1934), Ladies in Love (1936), Topper (1937) and Merrily We Live (1938). ON THE REVERSE: Wallace Beery (1885-1949) Known as a character actor, his background was in the circus and musical comedies. He began in silent films as a female impersonator. Some of his many films include: Horsemen of the Apocalypse (1921), Robin Hood (1922), The Sea Hawk (1924), The Pony Express (1925), Partners in Crime (1928), The Big House (1930), The Champ (1931) for which he won Best Actor, Treasure Island (1934) as Long John Silver, and Barnacle Bill (1941).
