This is an original 1934 photogravure of St. Gereon's Basilica in Cologne, Germany (Deutschland). It is built in the Romanesque style and is the site of Saint Gereon's beheading in the 3rd century. There is a column known as the blood column located in the church that is said to have been splashed by the blood of Saint Gereon, making it a sacred relic. The basilica was first built in 380 AD.
