Aldrich was a prominent banker and the United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom, as well as a chairman of the board for the Chase National Bank from 1930 to 1953. Aldrich graduated from Harvard University and was appointed an honorary Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire in 1947 by King George VI.
