1939 New York World's Fair Perisphere Cuyahoga Valley - ORIGINAL RTO1
This is an original rotogravure picture section from The New York Times, Sunday Issue, November 5, 1939. This four-page, double-sided section has cover images of life in prewar America including; the New York World's Fair perisphere lit up like a jack-o'-lantern; the North Carolina - Pennsylvania football game at Franklin Field, Philadelphia; a corn husking contest; the Grand Coulee Dam under construction; and a night view of the steel mills in Ohio's famous Cuyahoga Valley; plus many other interior images and ads including a full-page (16 x 22 inches) color ad for Christmas cards from Abraham & Straus, Brooklyn, NYC. Period Paper is pleased to offer a scarce collection of original rotogravure pictorial sections from several major U. S. newspapers. These sections were highly popular in their day, and today they provide us with fascinating "snapshots," so to speak, of historical events, people and places--a virtual treasure trove for the collector of historical memorabilia.
