This is an original 1943 photogravure of Napoleon Bonaparte's tomb in Les Invalides, or, the National Residence of the Invalids. It is made from red quartzite and green granite. There was controversy over what name should appear on the original tomb-- "Napoleon", reserved mostly for royalty, or "Napoleon Bonaparte". Since a consensus could not be met, the tomb was left nameless. The photographer of the image is Dr. Martin Hürlimann.
