This is an original 1943 photogravure of the Brocken-- the highest peak in Germany, located near Schierke in the Harz Mountains. Interestingly, this peak has been associated with witchcraft, and has been used several times in literary works, such as Goethe's "Faust". The photographer of the image is Dr. Martin Hürlimann.
