This is an original 1951 color tipped-in print of a portrait of Madame Rivière who was the wife of a successful court official under Napoleon Bonaparte's empire in France. The original artwork in this print was created by artist Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres (1780-1867) around 1806. Ingres was born in France and is known for his Neoclassical style paintings. He considered himself to be a painter of history, but was also known for his portraits.CONDITIONThis 60+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine. Light aging throughout. Light creasing.
