This is an original 1955 duotone rotogravure of a "serpent king" sculpture from a cave at Badami which dates from the 6th century AD. Badami is a town located in the Bagalkot district of Kamataka, India. It is the former capital of the Badami Chalukya dynasty (550-773 AD). A serpent king is a guardian of the underworld and great treasure in both Buddhism and Hinduism. CONDITIONThis 56+ year old Item is rated Very Fine +++. Light aging throughout. No creases.
