ABOUT THIS WINE Clos Fourtet is a Classified Grand Cru of Saint-Emillion. A blend of 87% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc aged for 18 months in 60% new French oak barrels. Clos Fourtet leaves nature to express itself, striving to keep its purity intact. They harvest carefully by hand, bringing in the grapes in small baskets so as to preserve their integrity. Then, they carry out the minimum, softest extraction necessary to reveal our terroir’s identity. Every year the aging of the wine is different: they adapt the amount of new oak barrels that we use to reflect the structural potential of each vintage. Throughout this lengthy process, they limit handling of the wine and protect the fruit from oxidation.
