Searching for Summer: A Solved but Unresolved Missing Persons Case

When Summer Shipp disappeared after conducting marketing surveys in Independence, MO, her daughter and a multitude of friends started looking for her. The search led Summer's daughter Brandy to launch a nationwide publicity campaign that included appearances on America's Most Wanted and the Nancy Grace Show, among others. After a few years, when the search had been mostly abandoned, Summer's body was found embedded in the muddy banks of the Little Blue River. Searching for Summer is a collaboration between the author and Summer's daughter Brandy Shipp and includes details from the trial of a man everyone was sure was her murderer.
