Primitives - Butter Paddles # 4-6

Wooden butter paddles were tools used to remove butter from churns, work the butter to remove buttermilk and mold into shapes. These paddles were typically made of hardwoods and played a significant role in butter making from the 18th to early 20th century.  Each paddle has a well worn patina, vary in size shape and color and have the typical bumps and bruises of use.  Display alone, in groups, in collections or as a candle base for battery operated votive.
