Polyglycolic Acid: synthetic absorbable surgical suture of greater strength and flexibility than collagen absorbable sutures, indicated for procedures requiring the approximation of tissues, mainly soft, for a period of time between 90 and 120 days. It is a homopolymer of glycolic acid multifilament and twisted, and its synthetic coating consists of calcium stearate and polycaprolactone, which facilitates the smooth passage through tissue, and provides ease, safety and accurate placement in the knotting. It also tends to decrease tissue irritation. Description:The Polyglycolic Acid suture is an absorbable braided multifilament surgical suture with synthetic coating, of greater tensile strength, a longer period of absorption and which results in very little inflammatory reaction. It is degraded by Chemical Hydrolysis, and is absorbed and metabolized by the human body. After the absorption of the suture, mass loss occurs and is then reabsorbed in full within 90 days. Of excellent workabi
