While on vacation at Myrtle Beach when she was 12, Amanda's neighbor had a beautiful Greyhound dog named Curly, and when she went over one night to play with the dog Amanda was there longer than her mom expected. Once she saw her neighbor making beaded bookmarks and beginning to help, hours later there was a clear fascination with beading. Since then it is a technique that has been self taught for many years and the technique that she goes back to for a creative outlet amongst many others.
