Robertson.  “Commodore Truxton.”   From James Hardie's The New Universal Biographical Dictionary . . .  New York: 1805.  3 ½ x 3 (image).  Engraving by Anderson.  Very good condition.   Truxton was an American naval office during the Revolutionary War commanding a number of famous American ships (Constellation and President) that were constructed for the newly established United States Navy.  He retired prior to the War of 1812.
