Burgess Buttercup Squash is a 1932 Heirloom. Dark green in color with a pumpkin orange flesh. The fruits are rounded with a buttoned turban at the blossom end, and are 3-5 pounds on a long vine. Buttercup Squash texture is dense and dry with a flavor that is sweet and memorable.  15 seeds   PLANTING Cucurbita maxima Germination: 7-10 days Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 70-85ºF Seed Sowing Depth: 1/2-1" deep Sowing Indoors: 3-4 weeks before the last frost. Provide 70-85ºF soil temperature. Sow 2-3 seeds per cell/pot. Sowing into individual biodegradable peat/cow pots reduces root damage when transplanting.
