Edna Vazquez, Pink Martini’s regular guest singer since 2017, has been delighting fans of our “little orchestra” on legendary stages around the world. But throughout that time, she has also continued to perform and record her own music, a bicultural melting pot of folk, rock, and the music of her Mexican heritage, deeply rooted in universal human emotion. Now, five years in the making, Edna is proud to announce the release of her first full album of traditional Mexican styles. Te Esperaba (which means “I’ve been waiting for you”) was created and produced entirely by Edna herself, and recorded in Mexico with traditional bands working in three different genres (mariachi, Norteño, and banda).
