The stock pan has a valley in the design that sucks in nearly a quart of your dirtiest oil and immediately contaminates fresh oil after a fresh fill. This deep pan has been engineered with a flat bottom to ensure all oil is drained properly during a service. The stock Duramax engine oil pan is made of stamped steel, which offers very poor heat dissipation.
