This was the material that we started from and have the most experience with. We’ve seen it, done it, we’ve improved it. Steel Body Armor provides great protection that can stop multiple projectile hits. This armor is rated at a level III+ as it can defeat special threats like M855 rounds. All of our steel plates come in one ergonomic curve option. We have worked with LE, and first responders to design a curve that you can be comfortable wearing. We provide this at no additional cost. What is unique about the way that we bend our steel is important too. We have designed a press that creates a multi curve bend in ONE step. Why is this important? When you do multiple bends to achieve a multi curve, it puts extra strain on the plate which can weaken it. We have replicated the same curves that you have seen in multi curve ceramic armor for years. Our SAPI Style 10×12 can be used for more coverage than our aggressive Shooters Cut body armor plates shaves off weight while still providing enough coverage to protect your vital organs. Use our CaliberX™ Soft Armor Backers for even more protection and comfort. Our standard plate comes coated to protect the plate from rust and the elements. One concern with Steel Armor is fragmentation containment. Some of that fragmentation is contained in the armor’s plate carrier, but there still is a risk of lethal shrapnel. We recommend our Caliber Anti-Spall add on. We have teamed up with our friends at Bullet Liner® to formulate an anti-spall coating specifically for our armor application.
