Marie Antoinette Zone Front Gown Bundle 16" and 18" Doll Clothes

This zone-front gown by Thimbles and Acorns  is a Robe a l'Anglaise (a gown with a bodice that closes in the front without the use of a stomacher) with diagonal pieces sweeping from the top center front to just before the side seams at the waist, pening up into the skirt. This creates a separate piece across the stomach (a separate "zone”). The gown pictured on the front cover is made in one color and set off with a sheer organza trim, but the color of the center “zone” can be changed to give it a completely new look. The gown bodice closes down the front with hooks and eyes, edge-to-edge, with trim along the center front. The back of the gown is made in the En 'Fourreau style, a method where the back of the skirt and the back of the bodice are one piece, and the bodice portion is pleated and sewn down to create the shaping.
