Tam Cap & Ruffled Scarf 18" Doll Clothes
The Tam (short for tam o' shanter) was originally a Scottish hat from the 1500s that was worn by men. Throughout the ages since, the style became unisex. It was popular in the 1920s, and variations of it were seen in the 1970s. The Flossie Potter Tam Cap is my interpretation of this hat. It's puffier than a typical tam, and holds tight to the doll's head with ribbed stretch fabric, making it fit the different head sizes of 18" dolls, including Bitty Baby®. Fine-wale corduroy and flannel suit this hat perfectly. The Ruffled Scarf is made of two layers of fabric – either both of them made from the main fabric, or with the upper layer being made from the rib fabric as a contrast. Wear the Tam Cap & Ruffled Scarf at a jaunty angle to complement coats, jackets, or sweaters. Decorate it for holidays for a fun look! Imagine the possibilities!
