Baldwin pears are semi-hard, sweet pears great for canning or desserts. The pears are medium-sized and yellow and ripen in early fall. They are moderately blight and spot resistant and the tree is low chill for the South. When young, pears are tall green columns. As they mature, the weight of the fruit pulls the branches down, making the tree look like a cascading fountain of fruit.
