TITLE:               “Big Dipper” MATERIALS:       Nylon-coated stainless steel, sterling silver, freshwater pearls DIMENSIONS:     20” around the neck with a 8” drop + 7” Bracelet Extender I used dripping pearls in a soft, feminine, contrasting palette on this rosary-like lariat that references the female anatomy where the ampule serves as a nexus point and the “heart” of the piece. I love the idea of pearls having a dual meaning of purity as well as hyper-sexualized fecundity and used color-blocked white and dark pearls to reflect the yin/yang where the two blend in a waterfall of chain down the front from the ampule. It serves as a statement of abundance and joy cut with hidden shadows of grey.-Meghan Patrice Riley
