About the Artist: Phil Renato is a professor of product design at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI. He is a former program chair, former chair of the college senate, he helped to write new curriculum in multiple programs, chaired faculty/staff/admin searches, built studios for jewelry making and digital fabrication and coordinated strategic planning. He is currently an executive member of KCAD’s faculty union. His areas of specialization/interests include digital modeling, metalsmithing, luxury product design and most other intersections of material, process and form.
