Parodia scopa v. rubra is a member of the Cactaceae family and is another variety of Notocactus scopa. The plant is spherical and has rusty orange and short white spines all around it. Throughout the plant, the spines create an appealing spiral geometric pattern. It isn't a heavy clumper but will eventually develop more heads. It requires normal cactus maintenance and defend it from the chilly weather. With its silvery spines and brilliant yellow flowers, Parodia scopa, frequently forms clusters.
