"The Emperor's Shadow (Qin Song)" Gao Jianli's (You Ge) Costume and Sword
Description Costume and sword created by the production for use in the Chinese film "The Emperor’s Shadow (Qin Song)" (1996) for You Ge's character "Gao Jianli." This is a four-piece lot consisting of two robes, belt with sheath, and a sword. Gray Robe: Long gray semitransparent robe which opens at the obverse. Robe has a pattern of very small white vertical lines throughout it. Vertical slits at the proper right and left sides at the bottom. Cream Robe: Heavy cream-colored robe with white vertical stripes. Robe opens at the front. A cord on the obverse proper right is tied to a cord under the proper left arm hole. Then the cord on the proper left exterior is tied to the cord at the reverse center. Sword: Heavily tarnished prop metal sword. Blade is dull. Grip is wrapped in brown leather while the pommel is covered in a darker brown leather. Wooden guard has been painted black.
