Delphinium nudicaule is a herbaceous Alpine, rock garden, annual, or perennial in the Ranunculaceae family. Its native range is from southwest Oregon to California. Familiar names include Red Larkspur, Orange Larkspur, Canyon Delphinium, and Christmashorns. It grows naturally in mountain ranges, foothills, canyons, and slopes. It grows to about 1-2 feet tall and 15 inches wide. It sends up a thin stem with small leaves on it. It also has bright red-orange flowers that hummingbirds are attracted to during mid-summer. It prefers to grow in full sun with an average water need.  Zones 7-10 Germination Delphinium nudicaule, commonly known as the red larkspur or canyon larkspur, requires specific conditions for successful seed germination.
