Delphinium variegatum is a perennial herb in the Ranunculaceae family. Its native range is northern central California. A familiar name for this one is Royal Larkspur. It is endemic to California, where it grows in valleys, mountains, and coasts, as well as in the woodlands and grasslands. It grows to around 1-2 feet tall with leaves with deep lobes that overlap. The inflorescence can have up to 25 dark blue-purple or white flowers. It prefers to grow in full sun to part shade with little water needs.
