Pachira aquatica aka Money Tree
Pachira aquatica, commonly known as the money tree, is a tropical plant native to Central and South America, widely admired for both its ornamental beauty and symbolic value. It features shiny, palmate leaves with five to seven leaflets that resemble the fingers of a hand, growing from a central stem. In cultivation, it is often styled with a distinctive braided trunk, created by weaving young, flexible stems together. This resilient indoor plant thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers moderate watering, making it a low-maintenance favorite for homes and offices. It is especially popular in Feng Shui, where it is believed to attract prosperity, positive energy, and good luck. While it can grow up to 60 feet tall in the wild, Pachira aquatica is usually kept much smaller when grown indoors—typically between 3 to 6 feet. In addition to its lush foliage, the plant occasionally produces showy flowers and large seed pods in its natural habitat, though flowering is rare indoors.
