Armstrong Red Maple Tree

Acer rubrum 'Armstrong' is a fast-growing, tall hybrid of red maple and silver maple, with a narrow, columnar form. Also known as a Freeman maple (Acer x freemanii ‘Armstrong’), this deciduous tree delivers an impressive fall color display but requires ample water to thrive. The Armstrong red maple is ideal for smaller yards or tight spaces due to its upright, narrow growth. It can be planted in rows for privacy screens or as a standout single tree. In spring, light green leaves emerge, transitioning to golden-orange in autumn before shedding. Fast-growing, ‘Armstrong’ can grow 2 to 3 ft. per year under optimal conditions.
