Its arching, feathery leaves are vibrant green on top and greyish-green underneath. The old leaves shed cleanly, revealing a smooth grey trunk. This tropical palm from Australia is best suited for nearly frost-free areas. It thrives in full sun to partial shade in coastal gardens and requires occasional summer watering. In hotter, arid climates, providing afternoon shade is essential to prevent leaf tip burn. Native to rainforests, swampy areas, and riverbanks, the King Palm prefers moist soil with good drainage.
