Saratoga Bay Laurel

Saratoga Bay Laurel (Laurus nobilis 'Saratoga' Standard) is an evergreen that can be grown as a small tree or large shrub or shaped into a topiary or dense hedge. Although not as hardy as L. nobilis, 'Saratoga' is a more vigorous plant, with larger, broader, and lighter green leaves, and is more resistant to pests such as Laurel psyllid and soft scale. New young stems and leaf petioles have a distinct reddish tinge. The aromatic foliage can be used as seasoning in cooking.
