Pepper, Stavros Pepperoncini
This variety is a Greek heirloom staple that's considered by many to be the best pepperoncini around. We love pepperoncinis in scrambled eggs, fajitas and bloody marys, and many other things. These peppers are extremely mild in terms of heat. Think banana pepper...Family-friendly pepper. No tears here, folks. Plants are productive even in cooler summer areas, growing 18-24" tall and producing dozens of 4" long by 1" wide, thin-skinned, somewhat wrinkled fruits that mature from pale green to medium red. The fruits sweeten as they turn color. Pro tip: Pick them when green if you plan to pickle them. Favorite plant color combos: Stavros Pepperoncini Pepper + Purple Basil Stavros Pepperoncini Pepper + Purple Peach Ghost Pepper Stavros Pepperoncini Pepper + Pink Berkeley Tie Dye Tomato Peppers thrive in full sun and well-draining, fertile soil. Mulch around the base of the plant to retail soil moisture all summer long. Looks gorgeous planted next to Purple Basil, Calendula a
