This soup is popular to drink during spring and summer, as it is believed to detoxify the body, nourish the kidneys and lungs, and hence moisturize skin. Ingredients: Lily bulb, pearl barley, Chinese yam, lotus seed, euryale seed, and polygonatum.  Cooking instructions: Rinse and soak Ching Bo Leung in cold water until it is soft. Blanch pork/chicken. Combine the herbs with meat and water, bring to a boil for 15 minutes and simmer the soup for further 45 mins in low heat. Ching Bo Leung can be cooked without meat, instead, add a little rock sugar and serve it as a sweet soup.
