Lotus Plant Description The President Lotus, a Perry D. Slocum variety, is a splendid, large red, classic, single bloom with bright-yellow receptacle and anthers. Dark-green foliage is a nice contrast to this beautiful lotus specimen! Color stays true and does not fade.  Nice seed pods, too! The President Lotus is OUTSTANDING in every way! Medium-Tall Red Single Lotus Planting Instructions Plant in wide, shallow containers with heavy loam soil being careful not to bury or break the growth tips on lotus tuber. Place in full sun with 4-6" of water over top of pot.
