Introduction to Forging - Railroad Spike Class

Hands on class!!!! Make your own Railroad Spike Knife Pops and Goat n Hammer’s take on a hobbyist favorite, the Railroad Spike Drop Point Knife is a great place to begin your journey into bladesmithing. In this class we will go through material isolations, each student will start by creating a pre-former, beveling and shaping the blade, profiling, and heat treat, and finally we will sharpen your knife to a razor's edge. No experience necessary, but be prepared for some hard work. Ages 16 and up. - Please arrive for your class at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.  - Please remember to bring some snacks and plenty of water or other beverages, and be sure to eat a hearty meal before class.  - We do not use central heat or air in the workshop, so please come prepared for the weather. - We require you to wear close toed shoes, preferably leather boots and non-flammable (i.e. high cotton/wool/leather content clothing), as well as safety glasses if you don’t already wear glas
