Hand made needle felt starfish fiber art figure

These adorable creatures are handcrafted by fiber artist Laurel Herbert. She uses a time consuming technique called needle felting where the wool fibers are bound together into shapes with a barbed needle tool. She sources her hand dyed wool from a lovely farm in the Appalachian mountains near Asheville North Carolina.
