The painting appears to have been originally framed, and has some wear on part of the canvas as seen in the photos. It doesn't take away from the uniqueness and vibrant nature of this piece. The frame is decorative gold on a wood interior and was originally made in Mexico. Jon Blanchette was originally from the UK (born in Somerset England in 1908.) He showed high artistic promise at the early age of 6. In 1918, he immigrated to Battle Creek, Michigan. He received his BA at the Pittsburgh Art Institute.
